Welcome to my new media site. Here, I am aggregating the best of my photographic and video collections from an old Picasa site (that Google killed off) and Google Photos. The Galleries contain location or theme specific media. The Temp posting area is where I will place a suite of photos from a recent trip for sharing. These will only be available for up to 6 months but I'll keep them permanently archived.

For those new to my work, I am a scientist and professor at Stanford University, working on ocean sciences, climate change, polar processes, and Earth history. I've been documenting scientific field work for over 35 years, through photography, video, and more recently with aerial camera systems.

All of the images and videos on this site are downloadable for free, albeit at a lower resolution than the originals. If you would like to acquire a higher resolution photograph, video, or video clip, please contact me through this site. Personal use is fine - just make an attribution when easily done. Please contact me if you'd like to discuss any commercial use of the media on this site.

I expect the full migration to be complete by February 2017, so check back for older media and additional locations and wildlife galleries. Any suggestions or comments about how to improve this site are truly welcome.

I'll focus my blogging on media, field science, and changes in our oceans, icy regions, and wildlife.
